What to Expect from Your Session

Whether it's your first time booking or you’re returning with another beloved pet, I want you to feel fully prepared and excited for your session. Here’s a quick overview of how things will go from start to finish.

Before the Session

Once your session is booked, we’ll schedule two dates—one primary and one backup date just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. We’ll also go over some important details, including your pet’s temperament, any training they’ve had, and what kind of environment they’re most comfortable in. This helps us choose the best location and approach for your photoshoot.

To help your pet look their best, I recommend a little prep the day before. A quick bath, brushing, trimmed nails (or hooves), and clean eyes and ears can make a big difference in the final images. If your pet has a favorite toy, treat, or attention-grabber, bring it along! It’s often the secret to those perfect, expressive shots!

If your pet wears a collar or leash, don't worry! They can usually be edited out of the final images. However, harnesses are much harder to remove, so please plan accordingly when choosing what your pet will wear.

It’s also a great idea to refresh basic training cues like sit, stay, or any special tricks you'd love to see captured.

During the Session

We’ll meet at the chosen location, and I’ll take a few moments to introduce myself (and any assistants I bring along) to you and your pet. We’ll gather up anything you brought with you such as treats, toys, any extra gear—and I’ll do the same with my camera and tools of the trade (like my trusty squeaky toy!).

From there, we’ll head to the best photo spots and begin our session. I’ll guide you through each setup and give simple instructions on how to help your pet pose. We’ll move around a bit, chasing the best light and the most scenic backdrops, taking breaks as needed to keep things fun and stress-free.

After the Session

After we finish the session, we’ll head back to the car and take a moment to go over what comes next. I’ll let you know when you can expect your gallery to be ready, and I’ll have some samples on hand—like canvas prints and traditional photo prints—so you can see what your images could look like as finished artwork. It’s a great opportunity to start thinking about how you might want to display your favorite moments.

A few days after the session, you’ll receive a sneak peek while I finish editing your full gallery. When your gallery is ready, I’ll walk you through the ordering process and help you turn your favorite shots into beautiful, lasting artwork—because your photos deserve to live somewhere more meaningful than just your phone’s camera roll.
